Your favorite fruit housed in an adorable chocolate cup!
I am currently obsessed with all things in chocolate cups. Have you seen my Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups? They’re the better-than-perfect copycat of anything store-bought you will find. Seriously, I find them more delectable and melt-in-your-mouth amazing than the ones you see in the store. Plus, they use only a few ingredients and are a snap to throw together!
These Strawberry & Banana Chocolate Cups are the slightly healthier and much fruitier sister of my peanut butter cups. You will love the fresh flavor of the strawberry and banana slices mixed in with the rich chocolate. It’s such an enticing combination! So enticing that you may devour the whole tin in one indulgent evening! These treats taste just like chocolate-dipped bananas and strawberries wrapped up in a cute, tiny cup!
I think these would be so perfect for a baby shower or party! They are sweet little treats and they just looks so precious too! You will love these because they are so easy to put together, yet look so professional. I love how the paper liners create ridges on the sides of the cups, just like store-bought chocolate cups! Any dish that looks gorgeous with only a little effort is a keeper in my book!
One semi-tricky thing with this recipe: the banana and strawberry slices are sometimes too big to get the chocolate to cover each side of it. If this happens, they will still taste amazing – trust me. They will just show the fruit on the edges instead of chocolate all around. You may want this result!
If you want to avoid this, slice the fruit so that the pieces will fit nicely in the center of the cup with room remaining on all sides. A easy trick I discovered: slice the banana and strawberry as you normally would, then cut the fruit slices to the perfect size by using a round teaspoon measuring spoon like a tiny cookie cutter!

Strawberry & Banana-Filled Chocolate Cups
Time: 10 minutes active, 30 minutes total
Yields: 10 cups
1 cup chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
1 Tablespoon coconut oil
Half of a banana, sliced
3 strawberries, sliced
- Fill a mini muffin tin with 10 paper liners.
- Melt the chocolate chips with the coconut oil using extreme care. If using the microwave, melt 10 seconds at a time on high, stirring between heating. Spoon a small amount (about a teaspoon) into each cup, enough to cover the entire bottom of the cup. Place the muffin tin in the freezer for ten minutes.
- Layer each cup with a banana slice and a strawberry slice. Spoon chocolate over the top of each stack, making sure to fill in the space between the fruit and the sides of the cup. Tap the muffin tin against the counter several times to even out the chocolate. Freeze for 20 minutes before consuming or before drizzling with additional chocolate. Store in the freezer for up to three months. They are great straight from the freezer, but very firm, so allow to warm at room temperature for a few minutes, if desired.
Notes: Because these are made with real fruit, they can get a little mushy if left at room temperature for a long period of time. I recommend keeping them over ice if you want them out for a party or shower.
